ME - 262 Channel Jacket
Flight Jacket "Channel Jacket" Version ME 262
Winter Flight Jacket German Airforce WW II
An authentic reproduction of the
WW-2 German Winter Flight Jacket (Channel Jacket). The jackets are in Airforce blue like the fighter pilots, dogfight pilots, night
fighter pilots and stuka pilots wore in the German airforce durring WW-2.
This could be the most rare variation
of WW-2 flight jackets. It`s production was more complicated than any other
jacket we`ve produced untill now. We obtained the original jacket from a fighter
pilot who flew the legendary ME-262 here at the Leipheim Airport in Ulm,
where all the ME-262 V3 jets were tested.
The first ME-262 V3 was flown by Fritz Wendel in 18.07.1942.
The (Winter Channel Jacket) was specially
developed later for pilots deployed on the eastern front, and only meant for
flight personal durring the time period between 1943 to 1945.
No production costs were saved for
this jacket reproduction, as is evident in the lamb fleece that was tanned exactly
the same way it was done in 1942. The work is done by hand in 37 working stages.
The Italian cotton is specially produced for us, and woven on 60 year old machines.
To produce one of these unique Winter
Flight Jackets, 2 different jackets, one out of cotton, and one of sheepskin
leather are combined together. Of course the map pocket and oxygen holder are
included exactly like they were on the original jacket.
The Channal Jacket is a piece of
airforce history that you can wear.
