G1 "Military" US Navy, modern day G1
This jacket was made famous by the "Flying Tigers" AVG (American
Volunteer Group) flying in China and the Hellcat pilots serving over the Pacific
in WWII. The G1 was also worn with pride by the
Phantom Crews during Vietnam, and is still worn by the current Tomcat and Hornet
pilots. The G1 jacket has gotten so popular that it has also gotten memebers
of the US Coast Guard to join the ranks
Our version of the G1 jacket is made following the military guidelines for
this jacket which were specified by the U.S. Navy.
Inside the jacket, you will find a cotton lining covering a light weight wadding.
The jacket has two roomy outer button-flap patch pockets, of which the one on
the left side has a pen-pencil slot hidden
under the pocket flap. The inside of the jacket supplys one more pocket, which
is closable per snap-fastener. The bi-swing back gives you extra comfort for
moving around, and the superb goatnappa
leather from our own tannery (from which this jacket is made of) will definitely
get your approval.
